Advanced Writing Workshop
with author Janisse Ray
June 12-14, 2015
This power-workshop will be in the format of the much celebrated Iowa Writers' Workshop.
Attendees will submit a literary nonfiction (or creative nonfiction) manuscript which will be reviewed by all participants. You will get 30 minutes of time devoted exclusively to your manuscript by the entire group. In addition, you can request a short block of one-on-one time with Janisse discussing your work.
Writers must send 5-10 pages to Janisse and all other attendees by May 26. In addition, you will receive dedicated instruction on the craft of writing, including metaphors, scene, tension-building, and description. Writers report that the Iowa-style workshop propels their work forward. Don't miss this rare opportunity to have your work reviewed not only by Janisse Ray but other writers as well.
Janisse is the author of 5 books of literary nonfiction, including the acclaimed Ecology of a Cracker Childhood and her latest, The Seed Underground, as well as a collection of poetry. She has won many awards with her work, including the New York Times Notable Book, and will be inducted into the Georgia Writer's Hall of Fame next November. Ray is currently at work on a book about healing.
