Alarka Expeditions - Brent & Angela Faye Martin

Alarka Expeditions is a Franklin, North Carolina based guide service owned by Brent and Angela Faye Martin. Brent and Angela have led courses and outings for over twenty years in the southern Appalachian mountains, with expertise in birds, plants, trees, as well as cultural and natural history. We can provide you with a range of outdoor experiences, and can work with you to fit your interests and skill levels. Custom designed hikes, along with basic birding, botany, forests, and Little Tennessee river trips are a few areas of our expertise, and we also offer group courses on winter tree identification, nature journaling, phenology, and cultural/natural history.

Sandy Bramlett

Sandy Bramlett, M.Ed., is a certified Black Belt Nia teacher, Ageless Grace Educator/Trainer, ChiWalking Instructor, and Master Callanetics teacher. “Nia is such a joyful way to experience fitness at every level. The human body and soul were born to move - it's how we experience the richness of life! Every day, I have an opportunity to witness the transformative power of movement - pure bliss!” Sandy is an Ageless Grace Educator and Trainer, and is the creator of Working-Out in the Garden workshops.

Rosemary Daniel

The Woman Who Spilled Words All Over Herself: Writing and Living the Zona Rosa Way
For more than thirty years Rosemary Daniell has led Zona Rosa®, a creative writing workshop for women (and now men), ranging in age from 16 to 90 and from all walks of life.
For a dozen years before that, she inspired kids—from reluctant high school jocks to barefoot fourth graders, in schools from Appalachia to a Mormon town in Wyoming—to write their own poems.
She also learned lessons in life and further developed her techniques while teaching writing in juvenile detention centers, a school for unwed mothers, the Georgia state mental hospital, and the Wyoming and Georgia state prisons for women.

Dr. Pat Gibson

Dr Gibson brings well over 25 years of experience to her multidimensional wellness practice. She evaluates each client and their issue individually from a comprehensive mind, body and spirit approach with the belief that there are many things contributing to the creation of a problem, not just one. In addition to the chiropractic care she provides she brings a rich experience of treating sport related injuries and trauma as well as a strong nutritional background.

Dawn Kinney Martin
​
Dawn Kinney Martin is an Atlanta-based artist with national and international collectors. Each year she paints plein air, which is painting on location, and takes photographs on her travels. These are used as reference materials throughout the year at her studio. Recognition for her expressive oil paintings includes acceptance at an Artists in Residence Program in Elizabeth City, NC, June 2013, November 2014 and a Merit Award from Manhattan Arts International Museum in New York for their juried exhibition, Herstory 2004.

Janisse Ray
​
Writer, naturalist and activist Janisse Ray is author of six books. She holds an MFA from the University of Montana, and has been awarded two honorary doctorates, one from Unity College in Maine and the other from LaGrange College in Georgia. In 2015 she was inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame. Her work has been translated and published in France and Turkey. She lives in rural southern Georgia.

Lynn Weisbach

Lynn Weisbach has made a life of art, first in graphic design and, since 1992, as a full-time artist and instructor. In both of these careers she has won numerous national, regional and local awards and honors. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the Southeast, and her paintings and assemblages hang in many corporate, private and public collections around the country.

Dede Vogt
​
DeDe Vogt has been a performing artist for over 30 years, owned and operated her own recording studio in Atlanta for fourteen years, received a gold record for her work as bassist on the Indigo Girls debut album, owned and operated her own music store, has composed for film and theatre, and has engineered and produced numerous works for various artists.

Susan Olson, Jungian Analyst

Susan Olson grew up in the Midwest but moved to Georgia in the mid-1960's. She earned her M.S.W. from the University of Georgia in 1975 and worked as a therapist in Athens before beginning her studies at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland in 1986. In 1992 she moved to Atlanta and opened her practice as a Jungian analyst. She also serves as a training analyst in the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. Susan enjoys presenting lectures and workshops and facilitating dream groups.

James Frazier, Personal Growth Consultant

James Frazier is a seminar presenter, storyteller, and teacher with a background in counseling, experiential psychotherapy, and personal and spiritual development. James holds a Masters from Bath Spa University in Bath, England and has been conducting seminars and experiential workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and in Europe since 1986. A serious student of depth psychology, as well as a seasoned teacher and guide, James has a wide range of experience in both group and individual work.

Shannon Willis

Shannon has 25 + years of professional experience addressing the deep wounding of the feminine through social justice advocacy related to intimate partner violence, diversity, and the oppression of marginalized populations. I have a Masters degree in Professional Leadership and Counseling with a focus in Jungian and Gestalt modalities and use this training to support folks in honing their inner capabilities through connection with intuitive and spiritual resources as a means to shift through imbalances, embody deeper wisdom and earth-honoring purpose.

Caroline Aiken

Caroline releases her 2015 and 9th CD: BROKEN WINGS HEAL with special guests Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls), John Keane (GRAMMY nominated producer and musician), Michelle Malone, Ike Stubblefield (Legendary Motown B3) and Randall Bramblett (Bonnie Raitt, Steve Winwood, Allman Brothers). As a Buddhist meditation teacher and counselor, Linda has been helping people find greater clarity, peace and fulfillment in their lives for 35 years. Linda earned degrees in psychology and Clinical Social Work and began a career as a psychotherapist while also delving into the practices of Yoga and T’ai Chi. She delights in creating individual sessions, classes, workshops and retreats centered around mindful awareness, happiness, silence and presence. Linda’s gentle, light-hearted approach creates a compassionate space for students to begin to free themselves from suffering and awaken to the purity and light of their true nature.
